Payouts & Tax Policy

Last Updated: June 13, 2026

This page explains how prizes are paid out, what tax obligations apply to your winnings, and what to expect at every step of the process. Questions? Contact billing@enbfantasy.com.

01How Prizes Are Paid

Prizes are awarded based on final standings after all scoring is confirmed and any applicable stat corrections have been applied. Payouts are processed automatically to the payment method on file for your account.

ENB does not pay prizes in cash, check, or cryptocurrency. All payouts are issued via our third‑party payment processor to the original payment method or account on file.

02Payout Timelines

Processing times vary depending on your payout type and whether identity verification has been completed.

Standard Payout
3–5 Business Days
After final contest standings are confirmed
First‑Time Payout
Up to 10 Business Days
Identity verification required before first withdrawal
Large Payout ($1,000+)
Up to 15 Business Days
Additional review may apply
Tax Form Required
Held Until Submitted
W‑9 required for winnings of $600+ in a calendar year

These timelines begin after all verification requirements are met and any fraud holds have been cleared. ENB is not responsible for additional delays caused by banks or payment processors.

03Minimum Payout Amount

The minimum payout amount is $10.00 USD. Winnings below this threshold will remain in your ENB account balance and can be applied toward future contest entries or paid out once the minimum is reached.

04Identity Verification Requirements

ENB is required to verify the identity of winners before processing payouts. You may be asked to provide:

  • Government‑issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, or state ID)
  • Proof of address (utility bill, bank statement, or equivalent)
  • Date of birth confirmation
  • Completed W‑9 form (for U.S. winners of $600 or more in a calendar year)

Payouts will be held until all required verification documents are submitted and approved. Failure to verify within 60 days may result in forfeiture of winnings.

051099‑NEC Tax Reporting

ENB is required by the IRS to issue a Form 1099‑NEC to any U.S. winner whose net winnings exceed $600 in a single calendar year.

  • 1099‑NEC forms are issued by January 31 following the tax year
  • Forms are delivered electronically to the email on file, or by mail if requested
  • The $600 threshold applies to net winnings (prizes received minus entry fees paid)
  • ENB reports all qualifying winnings to the IRS regardless of whether you receive a 1099
You are responsible for reporting all contest winnings on your federal and state tax returns, regardless of whether you receive a 1099‑NEC. ENB recommends consulting a tax professional for guidance specific to your situation.
06W‑9 Requirement

U.S. winners with cumulative net winnings of $600 or more in a calendar year must complete and submit IRS Form W‑9 before their payout will be processed.

  • W‑9 forms will be requested automatically when your winnings reach the threshold
  • You will receive an email prompt with instructions for secure submission
  • Payouts will be held until the W‑9 is received and verified
  • Incomplete or inaccurate W‑9 submissions will delay your payout

Canadian winners are subject to applicable Canadian tax laws. ENB may request equivalent documentation as required by law.

07Tax Withholding

If you fail to submit a valid W‑9, ENB is required by the IRS to apply backup withholding at the current statutory rate (24%) on your winnings before issuing any payout.

  • Backup withholding applies only when a valid W‑9 has not been received
  • Withheld amounts are remitted directly to the IRS on your behalf
  • ENB cannot refund withheld tax amounts — these must be reconciled on your tax return

Submitting your W‑9 promptly is the best way to avoid backup withholding.

08Fraud Hold Policy

ENB may place a temporary hold on a payout if fraud, abuse, or a policy violation is suspected. Fraud holds allow ENB to investigate before releasing funds.

  • Fraud holds may last up to 30 days from the date the hold is placed
  • You will be notified by email when a hold is placed on your account
  • ENB may request additional documentation during the hold period
  • If a violation is confirmed, ENB may forfeit some or all of the held funds
  • If no violation is found, funds will be released within the standard payout timeline
Chargebacks, multi‑accounting, VPN use, and collusion are the most common fraud hold triggers. Accounts under investigation may have all pending payouts frozen until the review is complete.
09Payment Processor Delays

ENB processes payouts promptly, but final delivery times are subject to delays outside our control, including:

  • Bank processing times and hold policies
  • Card issuer review processes
  • Payment processor technical issues or maintenance windows
  • Weekends and federal holidays
  • International transaction processing (for Canadian users)

ENB is not responsible for delays caused by financial institutions or payment processors. If your payout has not arrived within the stated timeline after all verification is complete, contact billing@enbfantasy.com.
